Antiplano

Some great sets posted up on the Cosmic Boogie site from the Antiplano night that happened a couple of weeks ago in Liverpool. With fantastic sets from Chris Barker, Kelvin Andrews and The Idjut Boys there's no reason for your sound system to run dry this summer.

The next event is August 15th with Mark Seven.

Rest In Peace Fella

After the sad events at the weekend, plus a lot of requests via myspace I've decided to do a short repost of our long edit of MJ's finest.

1998-2009

Just a quick heads-up about a new OOFT release in the form of a deep techy house reworking of Milton Jackon's 1998 track on Tronicsole records...

Saveloy!

Si from Cronk Family Enterprises turned us on to this back in the day documentary on LTJ Bukem and his manager. It was a serious program at the time but watching now its frankly hilarious! Do you have an Ironing service!?

Part Three

Part Three in the Instruments Of Rapture series will be out on 12" on the 22nd of July. Here's a little 192 style taster for 7 days only since the summer is officially here and the perspiration is kicking in.

If you're so inclined you can pre-order the vinyl from Piccadilly here ...

The Number 20

Domu Album Launch

The Domunator will be launching his new album of One Off's Remixes & B-Sides on Tru Thoughts at the monthly Mr Bongo sesh this Saturday 27th June. He'll be joined by Vanessa Freeman on vox and Graham & Kev on the steel. We've got a bag of love for Mr Stanton here at OOFT and reckon it'll be a right ol' knees up / heads down / taps aff.

Don't Sleep

OK ... now you'll think I'm taking the piss ... Who said the summer was a quiet time for putting out records?

Delusions Of Grandeur are racking them up, with their 3rd release in almost as many months. No complaining here though, as it's shaping up to be a superb label to be involved with. Seattle based ZEPP001 delivers "Don't Sleep", a cutting edge piece of cinematic, disco drama. I've stripped it back a bit for my mix and went for some Beltram-esque bass action.

Kept Music

I got this fantastic promo mix CD sent through the other day from Kept Music (a connection to a Mr Grindrod I believe). Designed in a similar way to our L.E.S.S. CDs but with a fantastic iridescent print on the sleeve and a great slo mo mix selection. Not sure if it'll become available at some stage - but maybe we'll get some more info in the comments section if it does?

Dub Praise

Honest ... this wasn't planned ... looks like all the buses arrived at once.

The second release on Phonica's new label is from JC Freaks. "Dub Praise" is a skippy house number with a tripped out acid-disco mix by yours truly. It's just appeared on vinyl through their store if you feel like a splurge ...

Space Doubt

Harri has been instrumental in making this track a bit of a Saturday night Sub Club anthem over the past year and it's now having it's debut vinyl release on Roual Galloway's new imprint with a Vera remix.

It's a bit of wild one for most DJs, but I have a lot of respect for those who get behind something like this and make it work because they dig it.

Twoo Sugars Please

One of the many new friends I met in Oz was Driller Jet Armstrong (real name) who runs a fantastic night at Sugar in Adelaide aswell as being an acomplished artist, sunglasses collector and attending to his pet owl. He gave me a couple of his mixes to take home with me - a great northern soul one and this tripped out mid-tempo selection.

If you're ever in Adelaide it'd be a mistake not to take a trip to the club which has played host to Idjut Boys, Greg Wilson, Brennan Green and is doing a special Horse Meat Disco party on July 4th to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the gay rights movement.

I Like A Party With An Atmosfear

Wolf Music kick off their label with the remixes of Atmosfear "Dancing In Outer Space" and two great tracks from KRL this week. Available on limited vinyl now.

Glastonbury

For all those heading down to Glasto this year, I'll be doing the closing set on the Sunday in the Stonebridge tent (11-3) with the Heavenly Records squad. It'll no doubt be a proper mashed-up and messy end to a messy weekend. The tent has plenty on offer over the festival with appearances from Autodisco, Beyond The Wizard's Sleeve, Fourtet, Skream + Benga, Jonno Burgess, Greco Roman etc.

I'll also be doing a jam in The Igloo at some point on the Saturday night for the Futureboogie chaps.

The 3 Boroughs...

We're not usually ones for posting music that isn't in some way related to our own stuff, but I thought I'd make an exception for this recent discovery - a proper 80's soul track stretched out at the time by the one and only Shep Pettibone. Some of the stuff he was doing with edits and Roland drum machines back in the day is ridiculous considering digital editing was still miles off. Check the crazy cut-up break in the middle of this BB&Q band track for proof.

This has been on repeat over at OOFT towers for the last week, and I suspect I'll be busting this all summer long. Roll on the BB(&)Qs ;)

And Again...

More mix action for y'all again this week, this time done for fellow glaswegian(-ish) peeps BICEP. Head on over to check the mix and their excellent blog, if you haven't caught it already ;)

The Music People

Here's a new mix that I did for our friends The Music People over in Finland. They run a weekly FM radio show over there and periodicallly post interesting finnish-related musical shizz over on their blog too - good guys.

There's some new OOFT stuff lurking in the mix amongst the usual cosmic, bassy and house jams.

IOR003

Here's a quick heads up about the next Instruments Of Rapture release which is due to drop in the next few weeks. We've got an OOFT track making an appearance alongside the usual Revenge belters ;)

Tracklist

OOFT : This Sound
The Revenge : Hotz 4 U
The Revenge : Heavy Love

No Downloads for this at the moment I'm afraid but you can hear our track on the myspace player and on a couple of recent mixes.
